This exhibition was organized by classifying and organizing a series of works from 1999 to 2023 into three main techniques.

My work is carried out by reflecting the passage of time and emotions, and at this point, I can see a certain flow of topics. Overall, the beginning of the work begins with "I" and then comes back to "I" through the flow of water, the flow of wind, and the maze of thoughts (Mind Map.

As revealed in "Kim Ji-young, Water, Wind, Miro, Kim Ji-young," the overall theme of the works also contains the meaning of reincarnation through the expression of water and wind that constantly changes and circulates. Like reincarnation, the flow of my gaze is eventually returning to me.

Various daily experiences meet in life, and each time, thoughts and feelings accumulate to form my own idea, which is embodied in various images in my works. Images have been produced through various techniques based on thoughts that feel fragmented but deep in everyday life. These images played a role in expanding the world in my work. Various experiences in everyday life are sometimes stored with my subjective perspectives and emotions that are idealized, embodied, glorified, or exaggerated, and these have expanded the world of my work. I think each work shows a partial cut in my own world that forms a world over a long time.

About the three techniques of the work

The work technique can be largely divided into cloth work (velvet, chiffon, main dog-colage), oil painting techniques (oil painting technique and velvet collage), and digital synthesis (digital photo synthesis and digital drawing).

The common thing between cloth work and oil painting techniques is to do collage works using images drawn with scissors.

Clothwork (Velvet, Chiffon, Bon Dog-Colage) makes canvas reflected using Bon Dog or Chiffon, a translucent, air-flow material. By repeatedly attaching a black velvet cloth (type of fabric) with a detailed image cut on a translucent cloth several times, a new image is created by building a sense of depth and space on the screen.

The oil painting technique (oil painting technique and velvet collage) is the same as the cloth work in that it uses velvet cloth (type of fabric), but the background is different in that it is oil painting. The emulsification technique also appears as a large image difference in the result depending on what material cloth the background part is expressed with.

Digital synthesis (digital photo synthesis and digital drawing) techniques have more expressions hidden in addition to digital photo synthesis and digital drawing expressions. Many expression methods such as drawing on many photos and paper, watercolor, 2D programs, and expression methods using tablets gather to form works digitally synthesized and painted.
