작품은 총 16점(모래시계 5점포함)이 전시됩니다.
아티스트 백홍은 신조형주의 창시자 몬드리안의 색면 추상에서 영감을 받아 작품 활동을 이어나갑니다.
구상적인 형태를 거부한 색면 추상은 색의 조화와 질서 그리고 기본에 충실합니다. 작가마다 다를 수 있지만 보이는 그대로 그리는 것은 쉬울 수 있으나 작가의 마음을 그려내는 추상을 어렵다고 하는데 그런 추상 중에서도 단 몇 가지의 색으로 그리는 것은 더 어려울 수 있습니다. 백홍의 작품은 단조로울 수 있는 색 면회화에 조화로운 색을 가미하며 율동감과 건강한 에너지를 보여주고 고급스러움을 선사합니다.
작품에서 작가가 다루고 있는 소재는 파라오의 장례가면 Nemes(네메스)인데, 이는 황금과 청금으로 치장된 패턴을 작가만의 패턴으로 회화작품과 모래시계 작품을 제작했습니다.
We, Gallery Art Continue, present Baek Hong’s (4th) Solo Exhibition <Nemestragon ‘skin’> from 16th to 31st of Mar., 2021. The works of Baek Hong were inspired by Mondrian’s Color-Field Abstract, who is the progenitor of neoplasticism. The Neo Plasticism, which rejects the conceptual form, is devoted to harmony, order, and basics of colors. Can be different from artists, it would be easy to draw as it appears, but it’s difficult to draw the abstract that depicts the mind of the artist. Among those abstracts, it can be more difficult to paint with just a few colors. Baek Hong's work adds a harmonious color to Color-Field Abstract, which could be monotonous, giving a sense of rhythm and healthy energy, and providing luxury.
According to the note from artist, there is a one thing comes up on mind when people hear the word ‘Pharao’, which is funeral mask, ‘Nemes’. Tutankhamun's Nemes has a pattern gold and lapis lazuli, and based on this pattern, the artist has created paintings and hourglass works with his own patterns.
