About
In my hometown in Buan, I was a miller's daughter. The children lined up to play with me if they were holding a small piece of garaetteok. The teacher's daughter, who wielded the children at will and served as the captain, then showed up with a Barbie doll...Now the kids look at the rice cakesI didn't even look at it, but I only looked at the Barbie doll's strange movements. Even the children who had no choice but to play with me felt strange when they went to eat early dinner. The unknown feeling led me to a small hill and spent time lying on it until my mother, who had finished the mill, shouted for dinner. In those days when I was stubborn and self-indulgent, I felt the time on the hill was precious or sweet despite my strong personality. The dark evening sky, the smell of grass, the murky soil and the imposing trees...I pretended not to hear my mother because of the strange feeling of comfort given by the silence of the children's departure.
When my adult life began, every moment felt not easy, I remembered the little hill. It was my hideout, a place where I felt the solitude sweetly, and above all, it was a place where I rested my body playing with sweat. After the body rests, peace of mind also comes, so I think the rest of mind has been solved there.
He started working with soil instead of canvas because of the comfort that soil had given him on the hill,
The subtle color and extraordinary depth of lacquer allowed me to express the feeling of nature more rhythmically when I was young.
Pottery, which started because it liked soil, always exists deep in my heart even though it is no longer baked. The shape of the pottery in this exhibition is perhaps an expression of "I."
I thought this process of dealing with lacquer and expressing it was a small "rest" of my life that was sometimes overwhelming. The work of rest gave me a flower path in my heart. The waves in the work are a kind of path that allows a short time to rest.
The soil and lacquer we received from nature
Like the warmth of my childhood and the warm flowery path in my work
I hope these works will be a "flowery path of the heart" where anyone can rest.
