About
On behalf of Sweden, I am very proud to hold my own exhibition at the Lugeum Gallery in Korea. This is my first exhibition at the Lugeum Gallery, and I am presenting the latest work to celebrate my debut in Korea. In my work, various plants that don't seem to exist in the real world and characters with humorous and pleasant images appear, and I use a variety of mixed media to create these elements. Inspired by the dynamic forces and movements of nature, my work invites the audience to its own surreal world filled with vitality and imagination. The recurring character in Mjau mjau's work is a tiger. A big smile, wild eyes, a long tongue. This confident character expresses an eccentric personality that resembles my identity. The tigers that jump around together while dancing show curiosity and playfulness, familiarity and tenderness. It helps viewers and nature connect more deeply with our inner emotions. 'Mjau' is a Swedish onomatopoeia word that means "meow" for cats. The exhibition title "Mjau Mjau" is a greeting in which tigers invite visitors to a magical world called Yoyo Nasty. I hope this exhibition will help us all build friendships and connect with nature.
